Tucked In

We all dream of doona days. And as the rainy days settle in for another season of winter we all tend to think of them a little more! However with Meredith Gaston's beautifully illustrated book, Tucked In, in hand it’s hard to know if you would ever want to get out of bed!

The perfect combination between creative writing and colourful & playful illustrations make Tucked In a pleasure to read or browse while hitting snooze on your alarm. It’s also the perfect little gift to brighten someone’s day if they have been feeling a little below par.

This book portrays a wonderful sense of positivity and optimism. It speaks from the heart and challenges the reader to dear to dream. It’s worth a day in bed just to read it!

Baking Day

I sometimes think that the wonderful art of home baking is lost to our generation. In a world where we are surrounded by pre-packaged food and take away it’s often hard to find the time to truly appreciate home baked goods. This book, Baking Day, by the Women’s Weekly Australia reminds me so much of being a little girl and being able to lick the scraper when we had finished hand mixing a chocolate cake or sample the cookie mix and therefore only ending up with half the amount of cookies we should have! The beautiful presentation on this book makes it’s simple yet delicious recipes all the more appealing! The inclusion of vintage fabric and bobbin threads across each chapter are a visual feast in their own right.

I hope you find this lovely book as inspiring as I did and maybe even feel inspired enough to make my favourite recipe, as shown on the pages below.

Now go and unleash your creativity in the kitchen!

When the paper cover is removed it reveals this beautiful hardback.

Emily Green

I have fond memories of making fruit loop necklaces when I was a little girl. Probably the fondest memory was being able to have a little snack on them when I was hungry! But the lovely colours were always so inviting and when I saw Emily Green's beautiful creations at a Christmas Market in Melbourne I instantly fell in love!!

Her bold use of colours and eye for unusual and unexpected colour combinations has made her necklaces very popular. I'm guilty of currently owning two with a third on my wish list!
