Take Note...

There is something undeniably unique about a handwritten note or invitations. The long lost art of taking the time to sit down the put pen to paper.

When I was 9 my family travelled to a very remote part of Australia. We visited a place where children from the outback would complete school by radio, due to the very large distances & isolation. After we returned home my mum helped me write to them and find a pen pal that was my age. I remember how excited I was to receive my first letter from her!

I still have it stored away in an old tin biscuit box under my bed. And now 15 years later I still get so much enjoyment from receiving post from my pen pal Emma. Of course technology has played it's part and we sometimes write a quick email because post can take up to a week or more, but it's this wonderful friendship where I feel like I know so much about her but have never actually met her, only on note paper. Hopefully one day our paths will cross, but until then beautiful handwritten letters it is!

A few of my all time favourite stationary labels are Rifle Paper Co., Liberty of London, Paper D'Amour and Kikki K.

Challenge yourself to hand write a letter or post card to an old friend of colleague. I'm sure they would be as surprised, delighted and appreciative as you would be to receive one!
